Before you start to DEMOLISH carry out this check list:-
1 ... Check to "O" rings in the shower tap assemblies.
2 ... Check that the tap spindle assembly/body washer is not leaking into the wall.
3 ... Pressure test the shower breaching piece assembly. (Pressurised only when the shower is on)
4 ... Make sure the tap flanges on the wall tiles are properly sealed.
5 ... Check the condition of the silicone sealant around the shower screen frame.
6 ... Make sure the grouted joints on the hob edge and wall tiles are not missing or cracked.
7 ... Make sure the CHILDREN havn't been filling the shower area like a bath. (Common occurrence)
8 ... Make sure the drainage connections are still in good working order.
9 ... Tape over the drain outlet with good quality PVC tape and flood test the base of the shower with water to a depth no greater than 40 millimetres
(REMOVE THE TAPE IMMEDIATELY IF WATER APPEARS IN AREAS OUTSIDE THE SHOWER CUBICLE)
IF THE CHECK LIST 1 TO 8 PASSES, THEN IT IS USUALLY A FAILED WATERPROOFING SYSTEM.
